In-Custody Programs

Overview

At the San Quentin Rehabilitation Center (SQRC), Harm to Healing Collaborative delivers restorative programs that build real-world skills for accountability, repair, and reintegration.

Our in-custody work strengthens safety and dignity by giving residents and staff structured ways to address conflict, reduce escalation, and practice repair — supporting a healthier institutional climate and stronger outcomes when people return home. This work supports public safety by helping reduce future harm over time. SQRC is widely viewed as a leading site in California’s shift toward a greater focus on rehabilitation, and our work there helps model approaches that other institutions and corrections leaders can learn from and adapt.
